tantrums and tents

Flora has been frustratingly grumpy over the last few days. I can make excuses for her; she has a cold, she isn’t sleeping well, she is punishing me for abandoning her for a week while I went and sunned my soul in Hawaii. HOWEVER she has been painfully difficult to deal with so it has been a joy when Rich gets home and I can finally see her happy face again...from a safe distance...
They crawled into their tent and read stories.
Prior to that, I did get a bit of happiness from her when we worked on our Easter crafts because, as she says, she “loves craffs”.

dead, stuffed animals

Yesterday we visited The World of Wildlife Museum in Sundre, of all places! As we had the museum to ourselves, the kids had a ton of fun running laps around the place while randomly noticing all the dead, stuffed animals that were surrounding us. No kidding, I think their favorite part was the faux tunnel.
All jokes aside, it was a really cool place and we had fun getting a close look at all the animals Chester donated through kindness (and a gun) to the community.

football

Took this girl to watch Thomas play soccer/football in town. She looked so funny running around with the big boys, all dressed up for the occasion.

breakfast and ice-cream

We headed out with Tara and Glen for a breakfast at the famous Chuckwagon Cafe in Turner Valley and then for a nice afternoon of browsing the shops in Black Diamond. Obviously we had to stop in at the ice-cream parlor so Auntie could treat Flora to a pink ice-cream, pink being her favorite flavor...

Asking for tractor rides!

off to Mexico

Our little girl had Wheel packed up as high as possible, with a balloon on the roof and a “ ‘tato head” on the front. I asked her where she was going and she told me “Mexico”.

Later in the morning, she looked even more like a hobo.

stretches with dad

A favorite thing to do is to join dad when he goes to change for the gym. She knows when she gets him up there he will let her bounce on the bed! Last night she took his hand and said “I will bring my special lunch, and I will bounce on the bed and you will bounce on the floor” (special lunch was a collection of balls in her play coffee pot).

Once changed and finished with bouncing, these two do a number of stretches before Rich heads to the gym.

fresh snow

We got hit with a pretty major storm on Sunday which left us totally housebound and ruined our plans! On the plus side, we had a great time sledding in all the fresh snow the following day when the sun peeked out to warm us up!
