Yesterday wasn’t as terrible as I thought it would be. I had more energy than I had expected to and Flora seemed fine after the night of upset. She had some toast when we got up/gave up on the hope of sleeping. She wouldn’t rest in her bed but did fall asleep on the floor of the living room for an hour and a half. She must have been knackered!
Flora has wanted to go outside for a couple of days now. She carries around her snowsuit or a boot or both and looks out the window. It is tragic. I am not a bad mother, what you will see after this paragraph is a weather warning from Environment Canada. This is why we are not going outside.

Details
Cold Arctic air has invaded Alberta bringing temperatures into the minus thirties. These temperatures combined with winds of 15 to 20 km/h will give wind chills of minus 40 to 50. At these extreme wind chill values frostbite on exposed skin may occur in less than 10 minutes.
Flora brought me her silver shoe to put on and her owl hat. Side note – her shoes are still size 6-12 months.
