We spent 6 full days away
from Flora while we golfed, ate out, drank beer and watched tv. It was great!
Leaving was the hardest part but once we were on our way I was fine. We would
have stayed another couple of days if she had had a babysitter on Friday!
Anyways, Flora did brilliantly. She wasn’t homesick, was spoiled something
rotten and got to be the centre of her grandma, grandpa and aunties universe!
Her usual random “hi dad” throughout the day has been replaced by “hi gampa/campa”
or “hi gamma”. She was brave enough to go in the tractor (while it moved) for
the first time! She rode in the chore truck standing up, napped for 3 hours
(average for me is 1:45), ate like a horse and didn’t whine or snivel at all.
We brought home a gift for Flora. She has named him Wheel. She spent an entire afternoon getting in and out of him, filling up his petrol tank “glug glug glug”, putting the Ninis in the back, throwing them out and getting out to pick them up again. On and on and on and on. AND she TALKED and TALKED and TALKED. We have no idea what she was telling us but she clearly was on a great adventure with Nini, Nini and Wheel.
A beautiful picnic with the
family to celebrate Mother’s Day was the perfect way to end our holiday week!
