We visited a little farm outside of Calgary so that Flora
could finally meet a real pig. Her favorite animal is a pig and she has been
asking for a fair amount of time if she could have one. I mistakenly told her
months ago that she should ask Grandma to buy her one, which she has done.
Repeatedly. She even tells other people that “Gramma is getting me a pig”. Mom
bought her a darling little ceramic pig, which Flora has called Snot/Sweetums
however I don’t think she is going to let go of the dream of a real one! We
have actually looked into getting one however they don’t come cheap! Also, I
really start to wonder how far I would actually go in order to make my daughter
feel completely content and I am not sure that having a pet pig is an avenue I
should explore!
So, the petting farm was a real hit and we had a blast
getting up close and personal with all the animals. She truly did enjoy the
pigs, was maybe a little intimidated as they were very keen on tasting our
clothing, but she fell in love with the one and only momma pig. The huge black
one. The one that is the size of a small car. Yeah, okay. No pig for our
backyard then!
Yesterday she asked Tom and I “What are you thinking about?”
when the car was abnormally quiet, we let her know and then I asked her – “I am
thinking about if I could have a pig”.
