park visits

 The beautiful fall that we have enjoyed this year has given us plenty of opportunities to get out and enjoy the park. I have honestly felt surprised most days when we have gone out and it is a pleasant day. Today, this post will be bitter sweet because I write it while wondering what I will do with the kids today with the temperatures down to -23 with the wind chill. Boo.
Iris, of course, loves the park. She bombs around like she is invincible. After this trip to the park she decided that the best way to go down the slide was to just run at it and not stop. I had to catch her every time to prevent her slamming her face into dirt. She has been sporting a nice scab on her nose for the past couple of weeks due to a park incident. She ran, she fell. It happens all the time. Yesterday I think she fell over and hit her head at least 7 times. Physically, she is so determined and it is frightening watching all of the things she attempts to do.

This sort of cautious play ended far too quickly!
