Blue Steel
We had a typical lazy Sunday yesterday. I don’t think we got up to anything except for making the house a crazy mess.
I got this cute photo of Flora pulling what we now call her “blue steel” face (Zoolander). It is the same one she uses to fake cry but we think she is doing it to try to be cute or get something she wants.

Glenbow Provincial Park
We had a walk at the Glenbow Provincial Park yesterday. It is only a couple of minutes outside Cochrane and there is a whole river valley to explore. This time of year is a little boring for color but the scenery was still beautiful and we enjoyed our hilly loop through the park. There seemed to be path systems all over the place and the park spreads from Cochrane to Calgary so we are thinking we won’t have to do the same walk twice for a while!
Halfway through our walk I remembered why we hadn’t come here yet, Kael had seen bear scat the last time they were there. We started to talk louder and I came up with a plan - if a bear attacked us, I would put myself between Rich and Flora and the bear while they made a run for it. Somewhat worryingly, Rich had no problem with this at all.

visit with Aunty Holly
I got a video of Flora making her fake crying face....this girl is going to be trouble!
We went straight to Holly’s from picking Tom up at preschool. Gunner let out a funny little whimper/sigh when he saw me. I am hoping that is just because he was disappointed I wasn’t his dad who had been gone all week! Flora is still obsessed with Gordon and follows him all around, often laughing. I think we might have to get her a little dog one of these days. Sorry I have no pictures of Tom! He is a busy little bee and all I have are pictures of the back of his head while he is under the table!

drama queen
I have been trying to capture Flora’s fake crying face that she has started to do for attention. It is hilarious and SOOOOO dramatic. She squints her eyes and lowers them, furrows her brow, pouts her lips and makes a whiny sound. These pictures aren't the best but they give you a bit of an idea of how that face might look!
She loves to read her books. If the shelf is stacked neatly and she can pull books down, one by one, she can entertain herself for ages. This has been a favourite thing to do for months.

A zoo day with no pictures of animals!
We went to the zoo yesterday with Gunner and Holly. It was a bit chilly but that worked to our advantage as there was barely anyone there. Fun fact: the male hippo is the oldest animal at the zoo (46) and has gingivitis.
