Happy Birthday Auntie!
Another visit to the farm for another birthday celebration, this time for Auntie Pookie! It was a pretty nice day as far as things go around here at the end of winter. The snow glare was so bright it was actually hard to be outside. Iris refused to sleep until Tara bounced her to sleep, even then it only lasted about 20 minutes. She is a kid that may make me become a hermit. Not that it would make much of a difference, she barely sleeps at home either! Her latest move is what I call a sabo-splodge, and Rich calls a crapo-tage. Basically she poops and wakes her self up, sabotaging the nap. It happens daily, sometimes more than once. She is lucky she is ridiculously adorable.

Iris chatting with Dad
Seems that we may have another chatterbox on our hands! She loves to touch faces as well, always reaching for them. She was having a really nice time playing with Ron's whiskers, she gives me a hug when she first wakes up and she grabs firmly to my face and pulls me towards her. Same again when she is upset but with a lot more urgency!

Spring! Kind of.
We have been enjoying milder temperatures here after a long and cold winter. It has been so nice to get out and enjoy fresh air. All of us are probably a lot happier for it.
This morning Flora told me that she had a "biscuit dream". I asked her what that was and she told me that it was about a chocolate biscuit, and a pig. "Do you know what kind of pig, mom?...A saddleback!". I love that her pig obsession continues. She draws at least a few pictures of pigs a day, and now she usually adds a black line down the middle of the body to turn it into a saddleback.

Cozy time
Iris has a pretty early bedtime because, of course, she seems to be a very early riser. I have no idea where she got that from, it must be from Grandma and Grandpa cause it sure doesn't come from me or her dad! Yesterday she slept for a couple hours in the porch at the farm, maybe she is keen to become a farmer. Flora will buy the pigs and Iris will take care of them? This morning she was up at 5:30! Long and short of it is, she doesn't get to see Rich a whole lot through the week. She still has the biggest and brightest smiles for him and is genuinely excited when she gets to hang out with him for a while.
Tired already.... SLEEP LONGER CHILD!

Family Day retry!
We more than made up for our Family Day holiday disaster
last weekend when we had a retry at a trip to Canmore. Unfortunately, some
bodily expulsions were once again involved but not so much that it ruined the
day! Well, I’ll let you be the judge of
that.
We had probably one of the nicest meals out, if not THE
nicest meal, since moving back to Canada. It was probably made more enjoyable
by the girls being so well behaved. Iris happily smashed toys onto the high chair
tray while Flora enjoyed her new toys that she picked out at the toy store, a
Mommy and Daddy warthog to go with the twins she already had at home. We can’t
wait to get back there again to taste
more of their menu. Seriously, try the
Crazy Weed.
After lunch we went to the pool and Iris had her first dip
in a pool. She seemed rather unfazed. We were lucky enough, or probably not, to
have just put ourselves into the hot tub when the evacuation whistle blew to
indicate that there was some sort of reason, that nobody probably wanted to
think about, to leave the pool. There was no way that their 45 minute “flush”
of the pool seemed long enough to ever convince me to get back in there so Iris
and I went to change while Rich and Flora hit the “big” pool.
I think we have been putting this hat on backwards! Ooops.
