I love these pictures! Flora and Grandma had a great game of hide-and-seek in the back yard one morning while they were here visiting. Flora's outfit along with the expressions on her face make these some pretty great moments to catch. She is all about dressing up at the moment. One of the first mornings that Grandma and Grandad were here I went into her room and saw her getting dressed in some "princess" clothes and glass slippers. She then walked delicately down the stairs, with such a serious expression, and properly entered their room as if she were royalty.
"hmmm, wonder where Flora could be...."

Mother's Day Brunch
Boone, the sweetheart, knew Flora was scared so sat himself there and told her not to worry because he would slow her down. Hilariously, she was moving at a snails pace because of the death grip she had on the side of the slide and he had to wait a fair while before she even made it to the bottom!
Iris got her first taste of finger food from Auntie Kael and has been loving it ever since!

making pancakes (or drop scones?)
The girls were visited last month by Grandma and Grandad. On Mothers Day, Flora helped Grandma make some pancakes for the brunch that we hosted at our house.
Blogger frustrates me so much. There seems to be no way to fix these sideways pictures. Terribly annoying.

iris at 8 months
I was going to say that this is probably overkill on the Iris pictures, but then I looked again and saw what a sweet face she has and reconsidered. This is Iris one month ago, getting better at crawling, enjoying finger food and being a little crinkly faced stinker.

Iris standing, 9 months old
I will catch up on my pictures from the last month as soon as possible. For now, here is a sweet video of our strong 9 month old baby smudge. She is an energetic, determined, mischievous goof-ball that keeps us on our toes every day! She annoys Flora on a regular basis, smacks me in the face as often as she can (just cause it seems to be a great game!), laughs easily, loves to be outside, squints and squishes her little face, curls herself around Sylvie to fall asleep and then is found with her knees tucked under, bum high in the air, later. She still hates her carseat and we are pleasantly surprised when we accomplish a journey without many complaints from her. She loves opening and closing doors, especially the ones to our bedroom. Last night, she sat contently on Rich's lap and had a couple of stories read to her which was one of the first times she has had the attention span for it, probably because we have rarely had the chance to sit with her quietly and do it. Flora then let Rich know that he needed to read her two stories, not one, because that is what Iris got.
