Thanks for the hats! xxxx

Happy (?) Family Day

It was a bank holiday yesterday and, having spent most of the weekend indoors because Flora had been poorly, we were really looking forward to a day out in Canmore where we had planned to go for a walk, go to the swimming pool and then out for some lunch. She had severe diarrhea on Saturday night, so much that I was cleaning it up still a day later and I am still washing bedding today. She seemed perky enough so we spent the morning getting all our stuff together and set off. On the highway, about half way to Canmore, we noticed she looked rather pale. Moments later she puked all over herself. We looped back home, telling ourselves it had been nice to get out for a drive, sitting in a car reeking of vomit. Poor Flora was so disappointed not to go swimming. We got home, Flora seemed better and the sun was beautiful and the birds were singing so we made another attempt for a family day. After a quick bite to eat at Dairy Queen (so long nice cafes of Canmore...) we had a nice walk. Okay, not really. The cold wind picked up as soon as we finished so we headed to Wal-Mart and walked around there, then tried for a treat in Starbucks, which was full. We were forced to the Safeway Starbucks where we sat, watching the plebs do their grocery shopping. Amazing.

As crazy as that day was, what a beautiful family I got to share it with.

Iris hates butternut squash

Oh dear, poor Iris. She seems to enjoy the other foods that she has been given but this reaction to butternut squash has been fairly consistent! I even tried to hide it in some prunes but she sussed me!

She got her first tooth on Saturday the 15th! I can't believe she is a big enough girl already.

Iris likes food.

Started this little one on solids. She is enjoying it a lot, as you can see by the way she dives at the spoon! I wish I could say it has sorted out her sleep problems but we continue to be disturbed through the night by this little tinker who feels as though she should be held and snuggled in the wee-ist of the wee hours of the morning.
On the plus side, that curl on the top of her head is as ambitious and delighted as she is and just can't be tamed!
On a slightly disgusting side, I discovered an extra cavern to her belly button where she has been manufacturing a special Kennedy brand of cheese.

Drooling, painting

This drooling little beggar is pretty needy at the moment. She is only sleeping for periods of about thirty minutes throughout the day and, while awake, she seems to only be happy when I am lugging her around. Staying on her back is still a major problem, she just can't seem to stop rolling over! I am glad to report that her nights have become far easier and, fingers crossed it stays this way, she is sleeping through without needing a feed.

She didn't know I was photographing her as she used various brushes, sweeping them all over the canvas and also focusing on small details. It was even sweeter when she pulled her "stool" over to sit on.
