What is it about kids in matching outfits?! So adorable. Iris, the little tinker, has taken to saying "dad, dadada" etc. We wondered if it was fluke but she definitely associates that word with Rich. She was sitting between his legs, looking at him, and out of her comes the sweetest and softest little "dad". Heart melted. And last night, from 2:30-4:00 am, all I heard was "ma!momomom!".
We went to Aggie days at the BMO centre in Calgary last weekend so that Flora could get a chance to check out the pigs and any other fun stuff that they had going on. She got to see a big ol' mumma pig and her 6 day old babies which was pretty exciting. Rather unfortunately, the farmer was all about children being aware of where their food comes from so when we kindly told him that Flora loved pigs his reaction was "Yep. Bacon. Pork chops. Ham. Leather." and so on, delivered in a rather abrupt and matter-of-fact way. Lucky for me, it was very loud in there and Flora didn't seem to make the connection, or just didn't bother listening to him. Out of curiosity, I asked her what she thought about eating a pig and she was horrified.
Later, Flora did some flower planting with Rich. She had brought a pine cone in from outside and had placed it on the stairs a number of days before this. Every morning she was pretty disappointed to see it hadn't started to grow yet. This should give her a bit more satisfaction!
Spring returned to us, briefly, and we enjoyed a morning of sunshine. Flora had a blanket to sit on with all her buddies, and they were all covered up carefully so that the birds wouldn't get them. Good thing we got out early to enjoy it because it started to snow by noon. This has been a looooooooooong winter.
I cant believe that she is already big enough to sit in the tub! Flora likes to have a bath with her but, as with everything, is controlling of the toy situation.

I love these little curls. They are a good couple of inches longer than any other hair on her head.
