IlluminASIA at Calgary Zoo

Happy Birthday and a wet camping trip

This kid is pretty amazing with Iris. I think he wishes that she was his little sister.
We took the girls out camping for a last stab at it. Unfortunately the weather was terrible and we ended up cutting our trip short by a few days.

A Happy Birthday celebration for our special little two year old.

Happy Birthday Iris (LATE!)

Our little treasure turned two! What a feisty little thing she is, keeping us on our toes all the time. Iris is very clever and quite naughty as well, making her a bit challenging to parent at times! She is in a phase where everything is "no! I do it!"as she makes her way and finds her independence. She can count to 11 and seems to be figuring out her colors. I have been asking her to poop on the potty but she just says "no", I think she is a bit lazy. She is obsessed with our phones and now we have to hide them. Always, "I look at pictures". She has a hard time hearing no so we have to put up with a lot of noise from her or she would have the run of this house (more than she already does, in honesty). Like, she genuinely believes it is in her right to have "ibream bones" (icecream cones) for supper. Still loves "boobra" so much and is happy to be allowed to be in her universe. She plays sweet imaginative games with her toys already, I have heard her toys having back and forth conversations many times. She pinches her thumb and pointer finger together and calls them "baby crocodiles". In fact, so many things are baby something or other (yesterday she ate a piece of "baby pie") and often "tow tute!" (so cute), in a high pitched voice. I love to stare at her when she is being good, I am in awe of the way she operates, the sweetness in her face. Then she looks at me, and I quickly look away. You shouldn't make eye contact with wild things.....it is an invitation to attack.

Fall days

Nothing like enjoying a beautiful fall day while your daughter rocks you in a swing and sings you a sweet little song.

And your other daughter enjoys a swing of her own with her new buddy Spooky Man. She found this guy at the toy store, grabbed him and started saying "Spooky Man! Spooky Man!" in a strange voice (like the one at the end of the video). He is important enough that he goes to bed with her!
